Energy Min: Belarus may reduce gas imports from Russia from 2020

MINSK, Oct 8 (PRIME) -- Belarus may reduce gas imports from Russia from 2020 because of the launch of the Belorusskaya AES nuclear power plant, Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich told reporters on Tuesday.

“(After the Belorusskaya AES is launched, the imports) may be lower than… this year,” he said.

In 2019, Belarus’s gas consumption is to amount to 20 billion cubic meters.

Karankevich also said that Minsk and Moscow will hold negotiations on the price for Russian gas in 2020 after they prepare road maps for future integration later this week.
